9 to 5: The Musical is an upcoming musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, based on the 1980 movie Nine to Five. Resnick was the co-screenwriter of the film, with co-writer Colin Higgins (the film's director)in which Parton had her first film role.

The musical premiered at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles on September 9, 2008 in previews with the official opening on September 20, and ran through October 19, 2008. The musical is scheduled to open on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre in previews on April 7, 2009, with the official opening on April 30 2009.
