Cirque du Soleil, is a Canadian entertainment company, self-described as a "dramatic mix of circus arts and street entertainment." Based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and located in the inner-city area of Saint-Michel, it was founded in Baie-Saint-Paul in 1984 by two former street performers, Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier. Cirque is producing their third show off of a musician or music group based on Michael Jackson called Michael Jackson The Immortal, with a arena show version to begin touring the world in October 2011 and a Las Vegas residency show set for 2012 or 2013. Written and directed by Jamie King, the leading concert director in pop music today. This once-in-a-lifetime electrifying production will combine Michael Jackson music and choreography with Cirque du Soleil creativity to give fans worldwide a unique view into the spirit, passion and heart of the artistic genius who forever transformed global pop culture. |
