Shrek Information:
Shrek is an upcoming musical with music by Jeanine Tesori and a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, based on the 2001 DreamWorks film of the same name.
Playbill reported that Jason Moore will direct, and Josh Prince will choreograph. Playbill also reported that Christopher Sieber has been cast as Lord Farquaad, and Sutton Foster will portray Princess Fiona. Brian D'Arcy James is announced to play the title character Shrek, with John Tartaglia as Pinocchio and Chester Gregory II as Donkey.
Broadway Theatre Information:
The Broadway Theatre is located in Manhattan, New York at 1681 Broadway. This is one of the most well known Broadway theatres in the area, and for this reason, it attracts a lot of visitors each and every year. This includes people who live in the area as well as many who travel from all over the world.
The Broadway Theatre opened for business in December of 1924. At the time of opening, the venue was known as B.S. Moss's Colony Theatre. Before finally being named Broadway Theatre in 1930, it was also called Earl Carroll's Broadway Theatre, Universal's Colony Theatre, and B.S. Moss' Broadway Theatre. But all in all, no matter what you call this venue, it has plenty to offer.
Some of the more notable productions to take place at Broadway Theatre include: Too Many Girls, Kiss Me, Kate, The Body Beautiful, Miss Sagon, and The Color Purple.
